Euclid Hospital’s 9th floor Med/Surg and Stroke Unit is designated for patients who have recently suffered from a stroke and provides the highest level of comprehensive stroke care that ensures patients are being treated quickly, leading to improved outcomes and reduced recovery times. As a Registered Nurse, you will become familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, pain modalities, and comprehensive nutritional support. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm—7:30am, with every other weekend and holiday required.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS), through the American Heart Association (AHA)
One year of current acute care RN experience.
Will consider licensed military RN experience.

Responsibilities

Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
Document in patients’ medical records.
