About The Position
About the unit 9 Center is a 24 bed Med/Surg unit at Butterworth Hospital that cares for the general medical and surgical patients. Employees are often drawn to 9-Center for the variety of patients and the team environment. Our employees become competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters and urologic care, managing enteral and parenteral feeding, and managing the care of wounds, ostomies, tubes and drains. Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
