About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, supporting patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including post-operative and urology cases. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
  • Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments
  • Active Ohio RN License or Compact State RN License
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work rotating day/night shifts
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry systems
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately
  • Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff
  • Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR documentation)
  • Follow hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards
  • Participate in shift handoffs, care planning, and team communication
  • Provide ongoing care and monitoring for post-operative and urology patients
