About The Position
About the unit Med Surg is our 44 bed unit that provides direct care for the general Medical Surgical population in Ludington, Mason County and surrounding counties in West Michigan. This unit cares for a wide range of medical conditions including: pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, hyperglycemia, Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, Psychiatric Population. Scope of work Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
