About The Position
The nurse is responsible for the interpretation of the physician's written order, and dispensing of medications and intravenous solutions for inpatients in a manner consistent with Federal and State Laws. In addition, the RN is responsible for auditing charts and gathering information for the Performance Improvement (PI) programs which are required by the Hospital in order to meet the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO) standards or the hospital's internal PI programs. The RN reports directly to the RN Charge Nurse or his/her designee and provides daily assignments and makes rounds with the Physicians. If the RN Charge nurse is not available or the position is vacant, the Staff RN will assume those responsibilities until a Charge RN is available.
