M Health Fairview is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Medical unit at our Edina, Minnesota campus. Working together, we respectfully address the comprehensive needs of our patients and their families. About this Unit: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work on a medical/surgical unit? If so, then the Med/Surg-Medical Unit may be the right fit for you! This 36-bed unit includes 18 telemetry bed and is known for its superb teamwork, learning environment, and sense of family and camaraderie. The patient population on the Med/Surg-Medical Unit consists of Geriatric, Respiratory, GI, and Detox patients. This unit is widely known for high employee engagement scores, patient and family-centered care, and being a fun and engaging place to work. 7 negative airflow rooms to accommodate respiratory isolation. Primarily provide inpatient care for adult and geriatric medical patients. Most patients have multiple complex health problems in addition to their admitting diagnosis. Most common diagnoses include: pneumonia, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, CHF, abdominal pain, diabetes with complications, infections caused by resistant and emerging organisms, and renal failure. Schedule: This position is 56 hours per two weeks on the evening shift, 8-hours (3pm-11:30pm) with every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
