This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg Float Pool at Atrium Health Union. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care across various units, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse will monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes. A key aspect of the role is upholding and promoting a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes, and taking necessary actions. Responsibilities also include safe administration of medications, treatments, and therapies according to clinical protocols, demonstrating effective communication, fostering team collaboration, and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, maintain certifications, and adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, practicing ethical decision-making and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is essential. The role requires willingness to float to Atrium Health Union, Union West, and Anson facilities, and potentially other units or departments within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding principles of growth and development over the life span to assess and interpret age-specific needs.
