Mercy Hospital’s 2M Med/Surg & Telemetry Unit provides care to diverse populations of surgical and medical/telemetry patients. Surgical patients in this unit have typically undergone abdominal surgery or hysterectomy and have drains or need wound care. There are also many cardiac and stroke patients on this high-acuity floor. 2M is an inclusive unit that fosters respect, collaboration and support among all caregivers and prioritizes open communication to ensure that everyone feels heard and valued. Your goal as an RN on the team will be advancing recovery to discharge as quickly as possible, ensuring safety for our patients. 2M also encourages RNs to obtain med/surg certification and participate in the Nurse Practice Council and Professional Congress.
