Oncology Our Oncology unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Oncology Patient Population: Med/Surg/Tele, PCU, Oncology, Chemo, Postop surgery (breast, bladder, lung, colon, and crani), Cardiac drips, Palliative Care (end of life and hospice support) Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Chemo; 1:5 for Med/Tele Number of Beds: 20 beds Department Specifics: Active Unit Based Council, Pharmacist and Social Worker on the unit during the day to partner with nurses in patient care, Multidisciplinary Team that works together, Chemotherapy training is required within the first 90 days. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
