This position is for a Registered Nurse in Maternity, focusing on patient care, safety, and collaboration within the Atrium Health system. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence outcomes, while upholding a culture of safety. The nurse will continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and may administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and certifications must be maintained, along with adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making. The role requires accurate and timely EHR documentation and the ability to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles across the life span to assess and interpret patient status relative to age-specific needs.
