One should be caring, compassionate and have the knowledge of the aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth, post-partum complications and treatments. The RN should have a broad knowledge of the pediatric population, recognizing normal and abnormal presentation of the child. An RN on MCH will adhere to the AWHONN's professional organizations, standards of care and recommendations.
