Our hospital offers a full range of services, including cardiac care, obstetrics, surgery, emergency medicine, radiology, laboratory testing, endoscopy, and a Sleep Disorders and Treatment Center. Across the street, Lakeland Medical Suites houses specialty physician practices for convenient access to advanced care. Community members also benefit from the Buchanan Area Health Resource Library, offering up-to-date health education and resources. The Emergency Department features twenty-one beds and operates as a Level III Adult Trauma Center with a designated Chest Pain Unit, caring for more than 25,000 visits annually. Scope of work Assumes 24-hour accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services unit of the hospital. Develop policies, procedures, and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are always provided to all customers. Assures presence of a supportive and healthy work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity. Key responsibilities include unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, human resource development, performance improvement, supports a culture of safety and maintenance of interprofessional collaborative relationships. Nurse Managers in inpatient and outpatient units are required to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire into the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing Required.
  • 3 years of relevant clinical (OR) nursing experience Required.
  • 1 year of relevant formal nursing leadership experience for external applicants Required.
  • 2 years of relevant demonstrated informal leadership experience required for internal applicants, may include but are not limited to: Charge Lead Nurse, Charge Nurse responsibilities, leadership on behalf of unit/site/system at Shared Governance Council Required.
  • MI Registered Nurse license Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing Preferred.
