About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced RN Emergency Room Manager to lead emergency care teams at a 500+ bed acute care hospital. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing patient care quality in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.

Requirements

Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
BSN Preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program
Licensure & Certifications: Active RN License in Virginia (or compact multi-state RN license)
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Within 1 year)
PALS (Within 1 year)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Required
Experience: ER Management Experience Required
Charge Nurse experience (1 year = 1 year credit)
Staff RN experience (3 years = 1 year credit)
Emergency Department Manager experience (1 year = 1 year credit)

Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Management
Assume responsibility for unit management in the absence of the Director.
Plan resources efficiently to manage workload and emergency cases.
Develop and review unit policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Staff Development & Coordination
Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating ED staff.
Ensure staff compliance with licensure, certifications, and training requirements.
Facilitate orientation for new employees, students, and volunteers.
Patient Care & Quality Improvement
Maintain open communication with other departments for coordinated care.
Ensure high-quality patient outcomes through best practices and compliance.
