About The Position

The RN Manager Emergency FT Days is responsible for the single or multi-department management of operations, overseeing day-to-day activities, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of operation. This role includes rendering individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet patients' physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and educational needs. The manager will also have budgetary or fiscal accountability, manage staff to meet designated goals, and approve timekeeping and employee evaluations. The position requires participation in strategic planning and maintaining regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Nursing Degree from an Accredited Nursing School or Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Three years relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Arizona.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ACLS certification as applicable by Facility/Department.
  • PALS/NRP certifications required for certain clinical areas.
  • Minimum of three to five years of Cardiovascular experience.
  • Minimum of three years Special Care (Level 2 EQ) Nursery experience including ventilators.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree in Nursing.
  • Two years management/supervisory experience.
  • CCRN or PCCN for PCU/Tele/Stepdown.
  • CCRN for ICU/CVICU.
  • CEN for ER.
  • CAPA/CPAN or CNOR for Surgical Services.
  • Maternal/Family Health Cert for WIS.
  • RN-BC for Med-Surg.
  • CRRN for Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care according to designated standards and practices.
  • Assists in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of patient care.
  • Establishes a mechanism to track customer service performance and takes corrective action to address any issues.
  • Participates in the development of annual budgets that reflect appropriate expenditures for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manages to budget; monitors variances between budgeted and actual expense reports and takes action to correct negative variances.
  • Assists with Kronos/payroll to assure accurate data entry.
  • Participates in the interview, selection, and orientation process for new team members.
  • Completes appropriate reports and institutes measures in the event of an unusual occurrence.
  • Responsible for the containment of department costs and conservation of supplies, equipment, and linen.
  • Acts and intervenes with ethical issues including clinical concerns and physician/nurse relations.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all department-related issues.
  • Evaluates the department/service's performance against specified targets and takes appropriate actions.
  • Participates in committees and maintains a state of continued survey readiness.
  • Provides leadership for continued survey readiness team.
  • Responsible for day-to-day staffing and making appropriate decisions based on patient needs.
  • Develops the staffing schedule and posts it within established timeframe guidelines.
  • Guides staff in the advancement of their education and leadership skills.
  • Coordinates and participates in assuring completion of the orientation competency checklist for new hires.
  • Manages employee performance by participating in evaluation process and coaching.
  • Conducts staff meetings as needed.
