About The Position

RN Pre/Post Unit 36 Hours Weekly, Full Time, Dayshift About the Unit: This 38 bed unit is focused on treating pre and post-operative surgical patients. This includes performing procedures necessary for proper placement of lines and assisting with peripheral nerve blocks.  Post-operatively, patients are prepared for discharge in the same area offering continuity for the Phase II Recovery or discharge phase.  Critical care experience is desired . BCLS, ACLS and PALS is /will be .

Requirements

• Active Kentucky RN License
• BCLS required within 90 days
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months
• Work Experience
• Education

Responsibilities

• Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient’s care consistent with the Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures.
• The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and the delivery of quality patient care and initiates change through active involvement in the unit-based and hospital shared governance councils while contributing to a healthy professional practice environment.
• National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for nurses as they utilize critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and exercise appropriate nursing judgment.
• The registered nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to enhance patient outcomes.
• The registered nurse serves as a role model through actively participating in the process of continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
• Utilizes the Nursing Process as the framework for providing care.
