About The Position

As a Registered Nurse at Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital, you will oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. You will secure patient travel and be knowledgeable about patient needs in healthcare, helping to prevent issues. Following the Texas Nursing Practice Act, you will delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. The position involves working in a Long-Term Acute Care/ICU setting, with an average length of stay for patients being 25 days and a total of 25 beds available. The unit offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow, combining ICU and Med-Surg experiences. The environment is described as a small family where staff and interdisciplinary teams care for each other while working hard and having fun.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days of starting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Long-Term Acute Care or ICU settings.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of health, disease prevention, and management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
