About The Position

This position involves providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising certified nursing assistants in compliance with regulations and facility policies. The role emphasizes holistic care, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents' needs are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state
• Current CPR certification
• 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in geriatrics

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activities of certified nursing assistants and resident care associates.
• Follow the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures by nursing personnel.
• Participate in the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
• Assess changes in residents' status and notify physicians and families accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders and carry out as written.
• Prepare and administer medications as per physician orders.
• Perform wound treatments and document changes as indicated.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and transportation for residents.
• Provide nursing leadership to assigned personnel.
• Perform direct care skills such as colostomy changes and IV administration.
• Conduct rounds to ensure resident needs are met and personnel are performing duties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members as needed.
• Report incidents or unusual occurrences to leadership.
• Ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Initiate, review, and update care plans as required.
• Participate in survey processes and QAPI activities as needed.
• Ensure infection control principles are followed and deficiencies corrected.
• Report allegations of abuse or neglect to supervisor or administrator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
