About The Position

Luther Park Community is seeking an RN/LPN for Trinity Center at Luther Park, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility which specializes in Alzheimer’s care. If you are a skilled, compassionate nurse that is dedicated to making sure the best quality of care is given, we want to talk to you! We have PRN openings which includes working one weekend per month JOB SUMMARY: The Charge Nurse will be responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out nursing care of residents. The job responsibilities include orienting, instructing, and supervising other personnel: CNAs, CMAs. The Charge Nurse complies with established policies and procedures and performs professional nursing duties within scope of licensure. Keeps DON/ADON informed of resident status and other pertinent matters. Admit and orients new residents and involves the family with orientation. Check physician’s orders, transfer forms and pre-admission information. Reviews resident’s medical and social history. Completes admission and documentation forms. Make sure that resident's supplies and medications are ordered and equipment is working properly. Maintains proper documentation of facility records i.e. narcotic records, medical chart forms and weekly skin assessment. Maintains daily, weekly, or monthly weight and vital signs and informs physician/DON/ADON and On Call Manager of any change. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing for RN/LPN
  • Current nursing license in good standing in the state of Iowa
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • One year of experience in a geriatric setting preferred
  • Knowledgeable with current changes in nursing practice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A post offer employment physical, drug screen, T-spot and background check are required
