About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department and ensure the highest quality of care is provided to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and be a team player.

Requirements

  • Current LPN or RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in a long-term care setting
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing practice
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • CPR certification required
  • The Nursing Supervisor must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with resident transfers as needed.
  • The Nursing Supervisor will work primarily in a clinical setting within a skilled nursing facility.
  • The position requires working some weekends and holidays, as well as being on-call as needed.
  • The Nursing Supervisor must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the nursing staff and ensure all residents receive the highest quality of care
  • Provide guidance and support to the nursing team and ensure they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care plans are developed and implemented
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess the quality of care being provided to residents
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards of practice
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing staff
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote safe and effective nursing care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and evaluate resident care plans and progress
