About The Position

The Staff Development Coordinator at Cedar Sinai Park is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective training programs for all staff, including new hires, contracted staff, and volunteers. This role ensures that training aligns with regulatory requirements and the facility's educational needs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and compliance within the organization.

Requirements

  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/RN program; must meet state requirements for relevant licensures.
  • Two years of experience as an LPN/RN.
  • Valid Oregon Nursing License.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the completion of the facility assessment annually to determine staff knowledge and skills required to meet residents' needs.
  • Identify and prioritize educational needs through an educational needs assessment based on the facility assessment.
  • Develop a training plan in collaboration with the Compliance Officer and other leaders to address regulatory requirements and identified topics.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and oversee orientation programs for all personnel.
  • Develop and direct refresher training for all personnel as necessary, tracking attendance and completion of training.
  • Review and revise educational content to ensure it reflects current standards of practice and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop competencies required for meeting residents' needs and assist in evaluating these competencies.
  • Cooperate with the Administrator during routine evaluations of the training program's effectiveness.
  • Schedule trainings flexibly to minimize disruption of resident care and maximize staff attendance.
  • Maintain all training records, reports, instructional materials, and speaker qualifications related to educational programs.
  • Provide opportunities for staff to obtain continuing education credits and maintain documentation related to continuing education.
