About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working full-time on weekends (Friday through Sunday) from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM in a Medical/Surgical unit. The nurse will provide direct and indirect patient care, communicate with physicians and co-workers about changes in patient conditions, and respond quickly to treatment changes. The role requires performing general nursing duties across departments with adequate supervision.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state Registered Nurse Licensure within state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassess as per policy.
  • Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Revise plan of care based on patient response to treatment and evaluate daily for effectiveness.
  • Perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) according to policies and procedures.
  • Interpret results of waived tests and take appropriate action.
  • Provide patient care considering age-specific standards.
  • Administer medications correctly based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Formulate and evaluate teaching plans based on identified learning needs.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical skills.
  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with Nurse Manager, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Maintain good working relationships within and across departments.
  • Document patient care according to current standards and policies.
  • Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
  • Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and organization under stress.
