The position involves monitoring patient care as delivered by C.N.A.'s assigned to the Nursing Living Area. The nurse will perform episodic routine charting, which includes observation, response to medications, and noting changes in normal conditions. The role requires completing appropriate documentation for the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents. The nurse will routinely check each patient assigned, note changes in conditions, and follow through with appropriate actions to meet residents' needs. Additionally, the nurse will notify the Supervisor, attending physician, and family of significant changes in condition or injury, administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician, oversee daily shift assignments consistent with resident needs and staffing guidelines, provide guidance to personnel as needed, and assess changes in health status of all residents. The nurse may also assist the physician with rounds as needed.
