About The Position

The Immunization Clinic Nurse is Registered Nurse and/or a Licensed Practical Nurse who seeks to protect the community from vaccine preventable disease by providing immunization services to the general public. The nurse assesses the immunization status of clients, administers vaccines, and educates clients and caregivers about immunizations.

Requirements

  • Active Professional nursing license in the State of Massachusetts (new grads welcome)
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • Evidence of a two step PPD or Chest X-Ray

Responsibilities

  • Meets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements
  • Maintains and delivers quality service
  • Sets up individual clinic sites
  • Reviews Protocols and age specific vaccine requirement prior to the opening of the clinic
  • Registers Participants
  • Completes appropriate client immunization clinic consent forms and clinic records to ensure correct vaccines are administered and documented
  • Dismantles clinic site
  • Has knowledge of action to be take in the event of an emergency; including epinephrine administration during an anaphylaxic reaction
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
