About The Position

The position is for a nursing role in a sub-acute floor that is a 59 bed Medicare unit, caring for residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulitis, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac-related issues needing monitoring. Nurses will work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals including doctors, social workers, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. The unit offers opportunities for learning, professional growth, and personal satisfaction. Additionally, there is a Chronic Care floor with 60 beds focusing on rehabilitation and long-term care, where nurses will learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy, and wound treatment nursing skills. The Dementia Care floor also has 60 beds and provides care to residents with various diagnoses, focusing on creating a fullness of life through relationships and caring. The facility, Beaumont Commons – Farmington Hills, has three floors and nine units, providing care for long-term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and population served, with a total of 179 beds available for various patient specialties.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Completion of all mandatory training, education, and competencies required for job classification.
  • Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire.
  • BLS – AHA or ARC certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrate competency through the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Uphold the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Strive to achieve optimal outcomes for residents.
