About The Position

This full-time day shift Registered Nurse position is located at Providence Child Center in Portland, Oregon, with hours from 7am-7:30pm (3, 12-hour shifts), including rotating weekends and holidays. The Long-Term Care unit within the Child Center has 46 beds and serves a diverse population of medically fragile pediatric and adult patients. These residents include individuals with complex developmental and neurological conditions, chronic illnesses, and disabilities, with some requiring long-term ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and assistance with daily living activities. The team is dedicated to providing compassionate, resident-centered care in a nurturing environment, characterized by strong teamwork, mutual respect, exceptional continuity of care, and deep relationships with residents and families. The unit also emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with respiratory therapy, rehab, and social work to deliver holistic care. Providence caregivers are valued for their patient-focused, whole-person care.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
  • In Compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), a criminal background check is required for this position (upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for direct and indirect quality care for resident, according to the individualized needs of the resident, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Accepts professional development as an integral part of nursing practice.
  • Coordinates resident care activities with other members of the health care team, and supervises the nursing care given.
