Requirements

  • Current RN license in State of Iowa.
  • Current basic Life Support for Healthcare providers from American Heart Association.
  • Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training 30 days upon hire and recertification every 5 years.
  • Obtains education required for license renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing process which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
  • Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice.
  • Performs and/or supervises activities/functions which require knowledge and skill level currently ascribed to the licensed practical nurse and seeks assistance when these are beyond scope of preparation.
  • Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process.
  • Communicate changes in resident’s condition to appropriate members of the health care team.
  • Follow universal precautions for infection control.
  • Correctly using mechanical devices for moving, lifting and transferring residents to promote safety.
