About The Position

Provide lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. Serve as a lactation-related clinical resource, educator, and mentor. Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promote the importance of breastfeeding. Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assist with their development. Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding. Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Certification specializing in Lactation preferred.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
  • IBCLC is required within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Certification specializing in Lactation preferred.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
