The Level III Labor and Delivery Unit at Hillcrest Hospital helps bring more than 4,800 newborns into the world every year. Additionally, this floor houses a high-risk antepartum area, featuring nine designated beds, a Cord Blood Center (CBC) and a birthing tub. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing patients with exceptional care, from initial admission to discharge with baby. You will also benefit from education in comprehensive electronic fetal monitoring, breastfeeding support and Kangaroo Care alongside a dedicated team of Maternal-Fetal Physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. + on call with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

• Labor & Delivery experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
