About The Position

The position is within the Labor & Delivery department at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. The role is full-time, consisting of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with flexibility in scheduling and no requirements to work on weekends or holidays. The primary focus of this role is to serve as a clinical, quality, evidence-based practice, and patient safety expert. The individual will collaborate with clinical leaders to develop caregivers in specific clinical areas and drive nursing quality indicators to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross or American Heart Association accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical, quality, evidence-based practice and patient safety expert.
  • Develop caregivers in specific clinical areas in collaboration with clinical leaders.
  • Drive nursing quality indicators and evidence-based practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical leaders to serve as a resource and support caregivers to improve outcomes.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve quality and safety outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and clinical professional development in identifying gaps and developing plans to improve professional growth, skills and competencies.
  • Support clinical leaders in aggregating and interpreting various quality/patient safety data with a focus on using data to drive improved care outcomes and nursing practice.
  • Guide the implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) projects, including the revision of order sets and practice guidelines at the unit or division level.
  • Aid in the analysis of research outcomes and devise strategies for their incorporation into evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
  • Conduct unit rounds with a focus on coaching and mentoring in partnership with clinical leadership.
