About The Position

This is a Full-Time position with a 12-hour NIGHT shift schedule on variable days of the week that includes weekends and holidays. The position will rotate work caring for L&D, Antepartum, Postpartum, and newborn patients at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. As a Registered Nurse for the Maternal Child Health team, you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice, including assessment, planning, implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress. The RN takes primary responsibility for patient care delivered by the Care Team under their supervision and works collaboratively with other team members to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • At least 1-year recent experience within a Post-Partum AND Labor and Delivery department in an Acute Care hospital environment
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Current NRP Certification (AAP Issued 7th or 8th edition)
  • Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification (AWHONN OR NCC)
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Rotate work caring for L&D, Antepartum, Postpartum, and newborn patients
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice
  • Perform patient care including assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes
  • Take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care
