About Our Unit – Labor & Delivery 14 Labor Rooms, 3 Triage Bays, 3 ORs, and 10 Pregnancy Special Care Rooms AWHONN-supported nurse-to-patient ratios Labor Support: Birthing balls, slings, tubs, ambulation, and student or personal doulas to promote low-intervention birth and reduce primary cesarean rates Pain Management Options: Epidurals, nitrous oxide, labor slings, and clinical aromatherapy The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
