When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. 32hpw; 8-hour shifts, FLEX 7a to 3:30p, with start times varying up to 2 hours, rotating weekends and holidays Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities Monitors infusion devices on a daily basis and documents according to organizational policy Assesses patients for appropriateness of therapy, correctness of infusion prescription and appropriate vascular access device selection Cognizant of complication development and appropriate interventions Participates in collaborative planning of care for the infusion patient Implements standards of care and practice using the nursing process Performs infusion therapy procedures correctly – including phlebotomy, medication administration, maintenance of all types of central lines and vascular access devices Responds to calls for service in a timely manner Intervenes on the patient’s behalf as appropriate Demonstrates skills and knowledge at all levels of infusion practice Documents all activities according to healthcare organizational policy Evaluates patient care and response to care according to established criteria Participates in unit based management performance improvement activities Participates in product evaluations Interacts with healthcare team on a regular basis Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge in problem identification and solving activities Role model for other healthcare organizational staff Identifies learning opportunities required to enhance care delivery Serves as educational resource for healthcare organizational staff including physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcare team Participates in research projects for infusion therapy Demonstrates willingness to validate nursing practice through publication Good communication and teaching skills Capable of self-directed responsibilities and able to establish priorities in infusion care delivery Professional image It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.
