About The Position

The Radiology Nurse will provide direct patient care as a RN in Interventional Radiology. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, residents, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The Radiology Nurse will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans within Interventional Radiology.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
  • Valid RN License.
  • 1 or more years of RN nursing experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.
  • Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Nice To Haves

  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • ED, ICU, IR, or Cath lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.
  • Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
  • Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff.
  • Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
  • Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.
  • Participates in recruitment/retention of staff.
  • Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
