About The Position

Boulder Community Health is seeking an Internal Traveler Registered Nurse for Cath L/EP#who provides direct patient care and assist physicians in performing invasive and specialized cardiac procedures within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.# Cath Lab:##Provide direct patient care and assist physicians in performing invasive and specialized cardiac procedures within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.##Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to manage patient care in a competent manner as outlined below.##Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality care in the procedural area. Provide On Call coverage for after-hours cases. EP Lab:##Provide direct patient care and assist physicians in performing invasive and specialized cardiac procedures within the Electrophysiology Lab.##Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to manage patient care in a competent manner as outlined below.##Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality care in the procedural area. Contracts are 13 weeks. External applications accepted. New hires cannot be ex-BCH employee within 6 months. 40 hours/week plus OT for procedural coverage in EP when they run long;#restricted On Call (30 minutes) as well as CB hours when needed for Cath Lab.##Call as assigned by the department

Requirements

  • Cath Lab RN minimum 2 years experience
  • Completion of accredited nursing program
  • Colorado RN license in good standing
  • BLS required through American Heart Association
  • ACLS required#through American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • CCRN, CVRN and/or RCIS preferred for Cath Lab.
  • CCRN, RCES and/or CEPS preferred for EP Lab

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in conformance with current recognized nursing practice, procedures, policies and established standards of care.
  • Enhance the quality and timeliness of patient care by working cooperatively with other personnel
  • Review all pre-procedural tests to assure patient safety. Incomplete or unusual findings are reported to cardiologist and documented prior to procedure.
  • Monitor patient conditions continuously for immediate recognition, interpretation and management.
  • Administer intravenous sedatives for procedural sedation and titrate medications.
  • Function as circulator during case
  • Provide post procedural care and maintenance of arterial and/or venous hemostasis until patient is transferred to the next level of care.
  • Recover patient per hospital policy.
  • Calibrate, adjust, maintain and operate equipment as necessary to ensure the safe, accurate administration of tests and procedures. Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Responsible for keeping all licenses and certifications up to date.
