About The Position

The RN in Internal Medicine requires competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatments, and techniques utilized within a physician's office or clinic setting. Renders professional nursing services in support of medical care directed by the provider. Works closely with or may lead other professional and ancillary personnel in providing total nursing care to patients. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patents for examinations or procedures, drawing blood, starting IV's and administering medications or treatments as directed by a medical provider. The job also includes triaging patient calls and making decisions for care as directed by the providers. The Nurse is an integral part of our interdisciplinary team and could be called on to coordinate ongoing care of elderly patients in alternative living situations or in need of end-of-life care.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of Acute Care Nursing experience
  • State of Alaska RN License
  • BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association
