About The Position

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital location in Woodbury, MN. Within our ICU, our Registered Nurses are responsible for caring for patients who have many different diagnoses including, but not limited to, sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, and surgical patients who need a higher level of care. Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a fast-paced and highly technical medical environment. This Intermediate Care position belong to the ICU unit, but it is a mixed service level unit. There is opportunity for IMC to cross train to critical care skill. Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Night shift, working every third weekend. About this position – ICU 3 North 18 beds mixed acuity Ages 18+ Patient average length of stay: 3-4 days Patient Population: Vents, codes, respiratory failures, septic patients, shock, unstable post surgicals, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,diabetics Usually 7-14 patients a day, however we are going to be increasing these numbers Free parking! Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes
Developing an individualized nursing plan of care
Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care
Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes
Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate
Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes
Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities
Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act
