Requirements

  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse License required
  • Degree from accredited academic nursing program
  • Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire
  • BLS

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates nursing care for an assigned group of patients throughout the shift.
  • Ensures care delivery aligns with unit standards, protocols, and evidence‑based practice.
  • Administers medications and treatments safely and documents according to policy.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support care planning and progression.
  • Responds effectively to emergency situations and leads the team as needed.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately and provides clinical supervision to LPNs and assistive personnel.
  • Supports and guides staff during procedures, patient care activities, and workflow challenges.
  • Assists with onboarding and mentoring new staff; serves as a clinical resource and role model.
  • Maintains professional standards, completes required competencies, and participates in quality and governance activities.
