Summary: Provides direct patient care on assigned units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations. Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Required to work throughout the South Broward Hospital District in various nursing units treating a diverse range of patients under changing circumstances and challenges in different settings.

• Two (2) years of nursing experience in a telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates learning needs of the patient and/or family; provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient admission, transfer, discharge, referral, spiritual, and psychosocial support needs.
