Purpose of the PositionRainbow Community Care is currently accepting applications for dedicated RNs to work at our inpatient center on a flex time basis.

Requirements

  • Wisconsin Nursing license is required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Current auto insurance on vehicle required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to direct and apply problem-solving techniques in resolving issues.
  • Ability to drive to and from meetings at other locations as necessary.
  • Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to be self-directed and handle stressful and emergency situations.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of current car insurance are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be able to drive to and from care facilities, patient homes, and/or other locations as necessary for your role.
  • Must be able to maintain healthy boundaries and positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Must be tactful and courteous in communication with others, whether in-person, by phone, or in writing.
  • Must act with integrity and demonstrate good work ethics including reliable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Medicare Hospice Benefit, philosophy and specific criteria to establish eligibility for inpatient admission to the appropriate level of care.
  • Knowledge of specialized nursing skills for pain and symptom management and end-of-life care.
  • Knowledge of county and state regulations for time of death care including coroner case protocols.
  • Integrates and demonstrates excellent standard infection control practice in all aspects of patient and family care and teaching opportunities.
  • Uses the nursing process to assess patient care needs and applies to the plan of care.
  • Evaluates and implements physician orders and plan of care, reporting response and patient condition changes to attending physician, medical director and IDT members as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedules and shared responsibility for delivery of care.
  • Uses excellent organizational and communication skills to prioritize, supervise and manage daily work for self and other care team members.
  • Able to use computerized charting and document within work shift.
