About The Position

OrthoArkansas is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team as an Infusion Nurse specializing in Rheumatology. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high-quality patient care by administering infusion therapies, monitoring patient responses, and working closely with the rheumatology team to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients. Your expertise in infusion therapy and your ability to provide personalized care will be key in supporting our patients' health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted RN License in Arkansas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • High school diploma or GED required, with additional specialized training or education in infusion therapy preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training, particularly in infusion therapy and rheumatology.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to effectively respond to emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaborative, team-oriented care.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Certification in infusion therapy is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Independently start IVs for infusion therapy and manage infusion ports with confidence and precision.
  • Administer infusion therapies according to provider orders, ensuring accurate dosage, proper dilution, and appropriate infusion rates.
  • Monitor patients during infusions, quickly identifying and addressing any adverse reactions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments prior to infusions to identify any potential contraindications or concerns.
  • Educate patients and their families about the infusion process, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to integrate infusion therapy into comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting infusion details, patient responses, and any observed side effects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, clinic policies, and strict infection control protocols during all infusion procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in the infusion area.
