The nurse will utilize the nursing process for patient care, demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and clinical trial orders, and provide accurate education to patients and families. The role also involves maintaining skills and competencies through educational programs, participating in committees and special projects, and offering solutions for clinical challenges. Effective communication with the healthcare community, patients, and families is essential, following AIDET and SBAR communication models. The nurse will maintain professional relationships, adapt to diverse patient and family dynamics, and make decisions to meet customer expectations while minimizing risk.
