About The Position

The RN, Infection Prevention/Compliance Officer, under the direction of the HP Administrator and Director of Nursing, is responsible for ensuring Heritage Place remains compliant with all federal and state regulatory requirements. This position conducts routine auditing based off of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Critical Elements Pathways and provides in the moment educational feedback. The incumbent will be familiar with and stay up to date on all federal and state regulations for Long Term Care in all departments of Heritage Place. As the Infection Prevention/Compliance Officer, the incumbent will complete surveillance for compliance, through the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, gathering data and incorporating the data into the overall Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan. This position will also be responsible for reviewing infection prevention processes and policies, and participating in emergency preparation drills and actual emergency occurrences. This position works closely with all departments as part of the QAPI team and is expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing.
  • 1 year of Long Term Care experience.
  • State of Alaska RN or LPN Licensure.
  • BLSP from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
  • Infection Prevention Certification within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
