Requirements

  • Current California Registered Nurse license (RN)
  • Three (3) years current medical surgical experience in an acute care setting or in a specialty area
  • Basic Life Support - CPR

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery.
  • Provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans.
  • Collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assess, identify, and report patient abuse and neglect (physical assault, rape or other molestation, domestic, abuse and neglect of elders and children) and implement department policies and procedures.
  • Consistently and accurately document education regarding advance directives upon admission, coordinate efforts to obtain copy of Advance Directives to place on chart, and refer questions to Chaplain Services.
  • Act as the client's advocate by initiating action to improve health care or to change decisions or activities which are against the interests or wishes of the client, and by giving the client the opportunity to make informed decisions about health care.
  • Accurately formulate and prioritize nursing diagnoses/patient problem lists through observation of the client's physical condition and behavior, and through interpretation of information obtained from the client and others, including the healthcare team.
  • Correctly identify patient and demonstrate correct, aseptic technique for withdrawal, labeling and processing of blood specimens.
