RN II (Part-Time) - Evening Shift
About The Position
HWDMC is a 94-bed medical facility that provides acute medical diagnosis, skilled, intermediate and long-term care to individuals receiving services in facilities operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, as well as individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities within the community. Registered Nurses (RN's) provide age-specific quality nursing care to all patients through the nursing process and standards of nursing practice. RN's plan, organize, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care daily; as well as supervise, document and provide guidance in performance of staff. These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year. Eligible for shift differential.
Requirements
- Considerable knowledge of professional nursing, supervising and administrative principles and practices
- knowledge of legal requirements affecting nursing practices
- Considerable skill in advanced nursing procedures specifically in an operating room/recovery room, med-surgical, psychiatric or geriatric field
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, to evaluate program and staff performance, to develop standards of care and operational procedures, to perform patient assessment, to troubleshoot problems and to establish priorities
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is preferred.
