For each assigned patient the nurse prepares an individualized nursing assessment, using professional judgement to seek pertinent data utilizing interviews and observation techniques. Performs assessment on pediatric and geriatric patients taking into consideration the physiological and anatomical differences specific to each age group. Assumes responsibility for guiding other clinical nurses through comprehensive assessment process. Identifies specific patient problems, determines their common interrelationships, and establishes priorities for plan of care. Observes, identifies and collects data to identify nursing care needs of the patients. Plans for direct care and collaboration with other clinical nurses in care planning process.
