About The Position

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Clinical Nurse II (CNII) in NICU is an experienced practitioner who demonstrates in-depth knowledge of neonatal nursing practice, neonatal specialty skills, and the ability to practice independently. The CNII in NICU serves as a resource person, preceptor, and relief charge nurse. Under minimal supervision, the CNII proficiently implements the nursing process for clients with complex diagnoses. This position is represented by SEIU, Local 121RN, and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • Current California Registered Nurse license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Neonatal resuscitation certification is required.
  • Six (6) month current maternal-child nursing.
  • When staffing can support a transition RN, applicants without the requisite experience may be considered.
  • Completion of a Neonatal Nursing Education Program or equivalent is required within three (3) months of employment.
  • Certification in fetal monitoring is required within one (1) year of employment.
  • Evidence of lactation support education required within one (1) year of employment.
