About The Position

The position is for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CV ICU) at Arkansas Children's Hospital, working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role involves providing safe and effective patient and family-centered care, utilizing nursing knowledge, skills, and experience to manage both routine and unexpected clinical situations. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and achieve desired patient outcomes. The position emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practice, patient education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
  • 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license - Arkansas or Compact State.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification specific to patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provides safe and effective nursing care at a competent level.
  • Competently assess patients and provide developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
  • Analyzes information to identify problems and outcomes, evaluates variations and patterns in patient/family data.
  • Provides individualized patient and family education at competent levels.
  • Advances evidence-based nursing practice using best available evidence.
  • Exemplifies and supports the AC Professional Practice Model.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary shared decision making activities.
  • Actively participates in the improvement of patient care, nursing practice and the work environment.
  • Accountable for the quality of patient care by initiating advocacy actions for patients and families.
  • Participates in councils, committees, taskforces and hospital initiatives.
  • Competently mentors, coaches, and teaches healthcare professionals and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
