About The Position

This position is for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Hematology/Oncology department at Arkansas Children's Hospital, specifically for the weekend night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The nurse will provide safe and effective patient and family-centered care, utilizing their knowledge and skills to manage both routine and unexpected clinical situations. The position is designated as safety sensitive, and candidates who are current users of medical marijuana cannot be considered.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
  • 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas or Compact State.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Demonstrated performance of 100% at the previous level and score within documented RN II/III levels via ACHieve career ladder for internal employees.
  • Certification specific to patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a competent level of understanding and application of the AC Model of Patient and Family-Centered care.
  • Consistently provides safe and effective nursing care at a competent level in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Competently assesses patients and provides developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
  • Analyzes information to identify problems and outcomes, and develops and maintains the plan of care.
  • Provides individualized patient and family education and documents all education activities.
  • Advances evidence-based nursing practice using best available evidence and clinical expertise.
  • Evaluates own performance and provides input for peer evaluations.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary shared decision-making activities.
  • Actively participates in the improvement of patient care and nursing practice.
  • Accountable for the quality of patient care and advocates for patients and families.
  • Participates in councils, committees, and hospital initiatives.
  • Mentors, coaches, and teaches healthcare professionals and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
