About The Position

We are hiring for: RN / IDD Registered Nurse / Nights Type: Regular. To provide professional care to service users, aimed at preventing disease and maintaining good health care. As a nurse with RHA will have an opportunity to practice holistic nursing and to positively impact the lives of others by providing healthcare oversight and monitoring for the people we serve. Hours: FT / 7p - 7a Competitive Pay Sign on Bonus: $6,000.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program.
  • BSN preferred, but not required.
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families.
  • Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks.
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the people we support.
  • Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel.
  • Teach the people we serve to monitor their health and provide medication administration training to the people we serve when appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration.
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled.
  • Conduct medication closest assessments.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned.
  • Collect health related data.
  • Conduct nursing assessments.
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician.
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported.
