About The Position

Reporting to the Administrative Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations checked: Adult (x) Geriatric (x). Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care. Knowledgably administers medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response. Assess patients’ conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely report changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, includes follow-up on lab/test results. Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skill in the nursing process. Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area. Participates in quality and performance improvement programs

Requirements

  • Graduate of RN Training Program
  • Completion of a basic EKG course
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • California RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS
  • Basic EKG
  • NIHSS (Stroke)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred.
